I just finished shooting the follow up to my FlashBum website. I spent two days running around the city taking mostly photos and a little bit of video. To celebrate the new redesign of Flash Bum I am going to let everyone follow along as I build it! The new Flash Bum will be 100% open source, built with FDT (yup going to give it another shot), and I will document the entire process.
Here are some of the features of the new Flash Bum (tentatively called Flash Bum Redux)
I would have loved to have been a part of this pitch – “Lets put Drinking and Flash together, right lets make a conference!” That’s right if you havn’t heard about Flash On Tap then you need to check it out. The lineup looks incredible and like I said before, you get two of the things I love most in this world1. If you want a $50 off coupon, leave a comment with your email address! Also, make sure you add @flashontap to your twitter feed and tell them that @TheFlashBum sent you.
I have just finished a tutorial (part 1 of 2) on how to Create A Flash Development Sandbox on Flash Tuts+. This article is very detailed and something I had been working on for a very long time. It is basically what I started back on this post. Here is what I go over in Part 1:
I am a big fan of Google Code. One of the coolest features that I completely overlooked was the way you can star projects you like. Once you star them they will appear in a drop down under the My projects tab. Probably not the most intuitive place to keep them but this menu holds a list of all of your projects as well as the ones you have stared. I have been doing a lot of checking out projects from SVN and creating new workspaces in Flex Builder lately so I have been using this menu a lot. I figured I would share some of the really great projects I use:
In a very vain google search for Flash Bum I came across this website thirstyflash.wordpress.com that gave a really nice plug for my Flash Bum site. Looks like he is just getting started with the blog so hopfully there is a lot of potential. I am always looking for good reading to add to my ever growing list of Flash RSS Feeds.
On a side note I have been playing around with Twitter1 and you can now follow the crazy adventures of the Flash Bum (@theflashbum) here.
the reason I was googling Flash Bum was to see the SEO impact of what I have twitted [↩]
Thus the highest form of generalship is to balk the enemy's plans, the next best is to prevent the junction of the enemy's forces, the next in order is to attack the enemy's army in the field, and the worst policy of all is to besiege walled cities.
