As FlashDevelopers its hard to not live in a bubble and try to stay ActionScript exclusive. Its very important to also understand our roll in the ever growning Web 2.0 movement and our place next to JavaScript. Ajaxian.com is a great resource for Web 2.0, Ajax, JavaScript, as well as CSS. They just posted a nice list of links summing up the JavaScript advancements surrounding the new browsers (Safari 3, FireFox 3, and IE 8 Beta) along with links to JS Frameworks, code libraries, AIR and Gears, and a few other things. Make sure you check it out here.

Blizzard’s Skinned FLV Player
July 10th, 2008
A few of the people in my office were nerding out and talking about the new Diablo 3 game coming out from Blizzard. I have been a big fan of their games1 as well as their web design. Blizzard has this very Apple like perfectionism that shines through in everything they do from their games, to their books, and even down to their Flash/HTML Sites. That is why my jaw dropped when I saw they simply skinned the standard FLV Player component on their new Diablo 3 website.

1 Year Anniversary
July 8th, 2008
July 5th was this site’s 1 year anniversary.
Here I am blogging at one of my satellite offices.
I just wanted to thank everyone who reads this blog for all the comments, emails, and support. I truly love sharing my knowledge with others and hope this site turns into a great resource for anyone needing help or inspiration when working with ActionScript. I have watched my traffic grow from 77 visits in July of 07 to just over 169 people a day last month totaling 5,078 visits in June of 08! The first 6 days of this month alone have generated over 500 visits and I have all of you to thank!
FlexBuilder vs FDT 3 Part 2
July 6th, 2008
This is a really really sad day but I am declaring FDT 3 DOA. I have been patiently trying to run the updated Mac version on a vanilla build of Eclipse with no other plugins and it has not been fun. I have prepared a few screen shots and specific instances where FDT is still letting me down and I can’t continue to use it in my production environment. Here is the deal:
Hiddentrak Flash Blog
July 2nd, 2008
I am happy to announce that my friend Myles has finally started his own Flash/Skateboard blog http://blog.hiddentrak.com and his first posts are well worth a read. I have been on Myles’s case to get his blog up for a while and now that its up its really full of good stuff. I met Myles at MLB.com and was impressed by his Flash skills right off the bat. He is one of the best Flash Developers I know and a wealth of knowledge (here, here and here). He has this amazing ability to simply play with everything and whenever I get stuck I ask him and chances are he has already tried it and moved on. Hopefully he will keep up the great posts and if you guys add comments and encourage him I am sure it will inspire him to keep it going. Currently he works at RGA and I hope they know how lucky they are to have him!
