Flex 3 + FP 10 Beta

May 19th, 2008

Eager to start playing with Flash Player 10’s new features? Myles sent me a link to this page on the Adobe Labs that talks about how to set up Flex 3 (nightly build) to compile for Flash Player 10 Beta.

Here is the tutorial.

I haven’t gotten a chance to set it up yet but I am eager to find out if anyone tries to play around with it. I have this thing where I don’t like to mess with my Flash Player or Editor on a production computer. Maybe I will try it in parallels or on my other mac when I have time. To bad it will be a year after they release it that I will actually be able to use it for client projects.

Yeah, I’m scared to play with it too much too. I’m gonna wait it out. Some of the new features are pretty dang cool though. I’ve really been hoping for a file reference class for some AIR apps for a while. I’m still getting my feet wet with AS3 after a hiatus from Flash (doing horribly painfull CSS) but definitely cool stuff.

I was watching a video on the new 3d stuff. Looks like the 3d engine I built in 3 months to run FlashBum.com in as 2 will now take about an hour to set up for the new player. I can’t wait!
