New Job

January 13th, 2008

I was on a roll with posting over the holiday but now that I am back to reality so I apologize for the lack of new code. What is taking up my time? I am going to be leaving MLB.com and starting at Heavy.com at the end of the month!

I’ve had an interesting year and 3 months working for MLB.com. There are some really talented people over there and I learned a lot about live xml data on large scale traffic sites. Unfortunately, I align myself more on the creative side of things, even though my focus now is being a Developer. So with that in mind I have accepted a job at Heavy.com.

I have been a big fan of Heavy.com for a long time and I am really excited to try something new. My director at MLB was very nice to let me post samples of my work code on this blog so I will have to see what the environment is like at Heavy. I still do a lot of Flash Development in my personal time so I will continue to keep posting that code here when I get the time.

Like all job changes this was a hard decision but I am really looking forward to working at a company who’s work aligns closer to my own style and sense of humor.

MLB.com is looking for Flash Developers so if you are interested check out monster or get in touch with the HR department.

    Good job, keep pushing yourself.

Seeing your tip about MLB needing developers perked my interested … but alas… AS2 - man I just can’t do it. After coding AS3 for the last couple months theres no way I could go back.
